Man charged for impersonating police officer in Branson

Branson, Mo – The man who is accused of recently impersonating a police officer or a U.S. Marshal has been charged.

Kristopher Charles Peters, 41, is being held on a $50,000 bond in Taney County Jail. Peters is charged with Kidnapping (1st degree B Felony) and False Impersonation of a law enforcement officer (A Misdemeanor). 

On Monday, July 23, officers responded to 3524 Keeter Street on a report that Peters was representing himself as a US Marshall. Peters was immediately arrested. 

The investigation uncovered prior incidents resulting in charges of kidnapping and false impersonation of a law enforcement officer. 

The Branson Police Department is still seeking information regarding Peters and anyone who may have had contact with him. Branson investigators wish to interview citizens who may have witnessed this type of activity or may have been contacted by the suspect.
