KIMBERLING CITY, MO - Strong storms caused some significant damage to Meek’s Lumber in Stone County. The lumber business has been in Kimberling City for 25 years. For Hoss Braden, an employee, he’s worked at Meeks since the beginning.

"I get here about ten minutes till 7 every morning and I wasn’t expecting to see this," says Braden. "I’ve seen damage here before with high winds and a tornado past over but nothing like this.”

Employees believe it happened around 9:30 last night and the damage could be over $100,000.

“We’re going to see what we can salvage. What we can’t, will have to be hauled off," says outside sales employee Bill Knebel. "So, that’s the beginning of the process, getting the debris removed.”

Knebel says they do plan to rebuild. "We’ll keep on going. We’ll get things cleaned up as quickly as possible.”

Meeks Lumber will be open this weekend as they continue to clean up some of this damage and hopefully will have it done by Monday.
