Lebanon Residents to receive free smoke alarms

Lebanon, Mo - On Wednesday June 27, the Lebanon Fire Department, and Red Cross will team up to save lives.

They will be installing free smoke alarms in the Lebanon mobile home park, where the recent fire fatality occurred that killed five children. The instillation will take place from 10-am to 2-pm.

The Lebanon Fire Department is amongst others who are partnering with the American Red Cross to install those alarms. Trained volunteers will also inform the community on fire safety and provide ways for families to prepare for home emergencies.

Home fires, kill an average of seven people each day in the U.S. The instillation of alarms is part of a nationwide campaign to reduce home fire deaths, and injuries by 25 percent during a five-year period.
