UPDATE: An investigation is underway after four people were found dead in a home near Branson West this afternoon.

The Stone County Sheriff's Department is now ruling the incident as a murder-suicide.

The victims have not been identified but the sheriff has confirmed two males, ages 47 and 17; and two females 44 and 75, were found dead with gunshot wounds to the head. The 47 year-old male and 44-year-old female were believed to be dating. Officials do not know which one was the shooter.

The sheriff said the family moved from California in the last year.

Stone County, Mo. -- A homicide investigation is underway in Stone County where multiple bodies have been found in a home near Branson West.

The Stone County Sheriff's Office is confirming they are still in the early stages of the investigation after the bodies were discovered on Crown Drive. Police have blocked the scene to collect evidence.

A resident near the the scene told Fox 5 that the neighborhood is usually quiet and they do not normally see a lot of crime in the area.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
