NIXA, MO (02/20/18) - A local Nixa business's sales of bullet proof inserts are selling fast! Fox 5's Lakyn McGee got to put them to the test and try them out. They're called the Savior Shield! With reports of 18 school shootings in 2018 already one local man says it’s time for a change and your kids should be protected.

Rob Moon, the inventor of the Savior Shield says it’s simple and life saving. “You just slip it in your backpack, put your books on top of it, and carry your books like normal, end of story," says Moon.

Weighing between 2 and 4 pounds Moon sales the inserts for $39. With the amount of active shooter situations going on at schools he says he wants to keep it affordable for families trying to protect their kids.

With in just the last 48 hours, Moon says he’s sold 300 to 400 inserts. "We’ve just been shipping them out as fast as we can get them made up and shipped out. We’ve shipped to every state in the United States.”

Moon says he’s done this for 10 years. And being a grandfather of kids in school he says he wants to keep families safe. “If you got some type of personal protection with your kid they can put in front of them or on their backs when they’re running away at least they’ve got something.”

The inserts are made of ballistic grade fiber glass and tries to keep them affordable. To purchase a Savior Shield you can call 903-263-9438 or visit saviorshield.com.
