Willard, Mo. -- (2/6/2018) The groundbreaking ceremony for Willard’s second intermediate school will be hosted on Tuesday, February 13 at noon on the corner of Miller and Mount Vernon in Springfield. The Willard Schools Board of Education invites the community to celebrate this exciting time for the Willard Schools family.
Stacey Pippin, Willard Intermediate School Assistant Principal, says, “We’re thrilled to begin the process of creating a second home for our 5th and 6th graders. We’ve worked very hard to create a student centered space that will grow with Willard kids for many years to come. I appreciate the community coming together to provide this for our students.”
Paragon Architecture has worked alongside our teachers, staff, students and administrators to develop a futuristic learning space to accommodate over 450 students with the potential to house up to 700 students with an addition many years down the road. “It was wonderful to play a part in our student’s future in this way. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product,” says Kim Harron, WIS Technology Teacher.
The additional intermediate school will be located adjacent to Willard Orchard Hills Elementary School plans to open its doors for the Fall 2019 school year. The current intermediate school will continue to house over 300 5th and 6th grade Willard students.
