Hit-and-run suspect arrested

SPRINGFIELD,MO-- (2/6/18)  Sheriff Jim C Arnott and Major Corcoran drove to a Hit and Run accident at Kansas Expressway and Division Street. The man who caused the accident, fled on foot, west bound with a pit bull dog in hand. Sheriff Arnott pursued on foot.

The male attempted to hide between two houses. Sheriff Arnott told the man to get on the ground. Instead of complying with orders, the male jumped a fence and began running through a yard. The male ran towards the front yard when he was tackled by Sheriff Arnott.

The male was identified and found to have felony warrants for distribution/delivery/manufacturing of a controlled substance. The suspect admitted to being on federal probation and said, “I ran because I’m going to prison for life!”
