SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - (1/24/18)

Springfield Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that happened last month at a Motel 6.

Tyson Hamm, 31, was taken into custody after a standoff that lasted for more than seven hours. Authorities say they arrived to a house on the 2100 block of North Roosevelt around 6:30 last night. They were able to arrest Hamm at about 2 a.m.

Hamm has pending charges of second degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.

The victim in the shooting was identified as Stephen G. Dowd, 41, of Fredericktown, Mo.
