Springfield man charged after attempted motorcycle theft, shooting

Springfield, Mo. -- (1/18/2018) Authorities have charged the Springfield man who shot the owner of a motorcycle after trying to steal it from him.

29-year-old Kyle Evans will face felony charges after attempting to steal a motorcycle at a gas station on East Kearney and shooting the owner before fleeing. The incident occurred in November. Since then, Springfield authorities were given a tip that lead to Evans’ arrest.

Evans is currently in custody and has been charged with 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, among other charges.
