Springfield, MO - (1/13/2018)
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Springfield, Bolivar, Mount Vernon, Stockton, and Greenfield areas through Noon Sunday. Light snow is expected to develop late tonight and last through early Sunday afternoon, with light accumulation expected.
Snow will initially develop around Midnight close to the I-49 corridor, and the spread east to Hwy 65 for 4 or 5am. While snow will generally be light, the very cold conditions in place mean that any snow will immediately begin to accumulate. This will lead to slick conditions on areas roads Sunday morning.
For the Springfield - Nixa - Branson - Bolivar - Stockton - Warsaw region, 1/2 to 1 inch of snow is expected, though some isolated areas may pick up as much as 2 inches of snow. South and Branson into northern Arkansas, amounts will taper off to a dusting to 1/2 inch. Lebanon to Rolla and Salem should expect lesser amounts of a dusting to 1/2 inch as well.
Snow will come to an end by mid-afternoon, however another round of light snow is forecast to affect the area once again late Sunday into Monday.
