Springfield, Mo - (12/5/17)
A fundraising campaign is looking to help Habitat for Humanity replace $15,000 worth of stolen tools and building supplies.
"The Grinch who Stole our Tools” campaign was created after thieves stole a truck and a trailer full of tools from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Local authorities were able to recover the truck and trailer, but the tools were gone.
Not having the tools is preventing the organization from completing work in Woodland Heights as part of the ongoing Neighborhood Revitalization efforts.
“Without tools, we can’t build and repair homes for residents of Woodland Heights,” said Larry Peterson, executive director of HFHS. “We have to put current projects on hold and we can’t start critical repairs until we can replace our stolen equipment.”
Monetary donations can be given online at give.habitatspringfieldmo.org or at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore (2410 S. Scenic).
Tool Donations are also being accepted. You can contact Development Director Brandi VanAntwerp at 417-829-4001 x 106 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further details regarding those donations. To maintain the quality of the home repair and home building program, HFHS reserves the right to only accept tool donations that maintain proper building standards.
