Jefferson City, Mo-- (11/29/17) A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Backpage.com that was aimed at blocking Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley's office from investigating it.
Backpage sought to block the investigation into whether the company has ties to human trafficking. On Wednesday Hawley praised the court's decision.
“I am glad the court rejected this meritless lawsuit,” Hawley said. “My Office is now able to move beyond legal sidestepping and focus on what matters—fighting to eradicate this terrible crime in Missouri.”
