Branson, Mo (11/27/2017) -- At approximately 6:00 pm on Sunday November 26th, firefighters from WTCFPD were requested by Branson Fire for a mutual aid structure fire in the area of Wintergreen Rd, and Scenic View Dr.  Callers from the highway were reporting a house on fire in the area. WTCFPD arrived in the area with Branson Fire and law enforcement and were unable to locate. Within seconds of arrival in the area, several other calls came into 911 reporting the fire was further north on highway 65. Units proceeded north on 65 Highway and were then notified by dispatch the correct address would be in the 100 block of Fountain Rd.

WTCFPD Chief 3 and Chief 4 arrived on scene and found a residence heavily involved on the exterior and fire breaching into the interior of the home. Crews from Station 7. 2, 9, 5, and 1 along with Branson Fire Department Truck 20 arrived and proceeded to quickly knock down the exterior and then proceeded to the inside of the home extinguishing the fire. The fire was contained to the exterior of the home and one bedroom. There is smoke damage throughout the home. It is important to note that the door of the bedroom involved was closed at the time of the fire, keeping the fire contained and oxygen deficient until crews arrived.

One resident was home at the time of the fire and escaped with no injuries thanks to working smoke detectors and her vigilance. No injuries were reported, and the units cleared the scene around 9:00 pm. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but originated on the back deck of the home.

We would like to remind everyone that conditions have been extremely dry for the last few weeks. Please keep the exterior of your home free from dried leaves, limbs, and fire wood as they contribute to fire growth and spread. Also, please refrain from any outdoor burning and always make sure to always properly dispose of any cigarette and cigar butts.
