SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- (10/06/2017) In connection with a non-profit program called 'Heat Up Missouri', a local H-VAC dealer is setting up a Springfield resident with a new furnace.
Lennox Industries, a heating and air conditioning manufacturer which provides up to one-hundred high-efficiency furnaces to households across the state, began 'Heat Up Missouri'.
Local dealer Air Services, Heating and Cooling was able to select the person to receive the furnace and are completing the work.
Rich Callahan at Air Service Heating and Cooling stated, "We found a gentlemen in need, he's been without a furnace for two years. Our teams going out tomorrow and we're going to be installing a brand new furnace and coil, making sure it's all up to code. We're also gonna spend some time to help clean up his yard and whatever else he needs and maybe fix him a lunch."
According to its website, nominees for this program are chosen based on a variety of criteria, including physical, mental, or social disabilities; financial challenges; job loss; military service; community service; and more.
The installing dealers contact a nominee from the applications, often visiting their home to review the job site and ensure they will have all of the materials necessary for the installation.
On the first Saturday in October, all of the participating Lennox dealers will install a brand-new, high-efficiency Lennox gas furnace for their chosen nominee.
The installation of the new furnace is planned to be done Saturday, Oct. 7. Nominations for next years recipient are already being accepted.
