Second McDonald County Escapee Captured

On July 14th, Nathaniel Bowen was located walking roadside on Mo 76 east of Yocum Pond Road.  He was with Christopher Walker in the vehicle when it fled.  He was arrested without incident and transported to Stone County Jail where he remains incarcerated on Out of County Warrants.  Probably Cause Statement has been sent to the Stone County Prosecutor for further charges stemming from last night.

Christopher Joe Walker was formally charged today with Escaping from Custody and his Bond was set at $50,000 C/S.  Along with his other charges, his total bond amount is $40,000 Cash on his Out of County Warrants along with $50,000 Cash or Surety on his Stone County Warrant.

Springfield, Mo. -- (7/14/17) On Thursday Evening at Approximately 730 pm, a vehicle which matched the description of the escapees from McDonald County, had been located off Golf Range Road in Reeds Spring, Missouri.  The vehicle was off the roadway a considerable distance and was abandoned.  An extensive search of the area was conducted by the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Mo State Highway Patrol, Reeds Spring Police Department and Branson West Police Department.  The search continued into the early morning hours until it was scaled down. Deputies continued to monitor the area for the suspects the rest of the Morning.

On Friday Morning at approximately 730 am, Branson West Police Department located a male individual walking roadside just north of Tunnel Drive on Hwy 13. When they stopped to make contact with the male individual they recognized him as one of the escaped inmates.  He was taken into custody at that time without incident. He was turned over to a Stone County Deputy and transported to the Stone County Jail.

Christopher Joe Walker, a 20 yr old white male from Pineville, Mo, had escaped from custody in McDonald County and had been on the run since Wednesday, July 12th.  He is currently incarcerated in the Stone County Jail with multiple warrants from other counties.  Reports have been sent to the Stone County Prosecuting Attorney for additional charges stemming from the search earlier in the evening.
