SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – (06/15/2017) Are they boys or girls, or one or two of each?
The cheetah cubs born May 2 at Dickerson Park Zoo have had their first checkup, and on Tuesday, June 20 at 11 a.m. the zoo is hosting a gender reveal party to announce the sex and names of the cubs. The announcement will take place on the cheetah observation deck, and guests wearing pink or blue will receive $1 off general admission.
The zoo veterinarian and Africa zookeepers will give a Cheetah Chat and share some fun facts about cheetah cubs, conservations efforts to protect these endangered species and more.
“There is a lot of excitement about the cubs; and although it may be a few more weeks before they are ready to move to their public-viewing yard, we decided to get in on the gender reveal party trend and have some fun,” said zoo spokeswoman Joey Powell.
The winners of the zoo’s cheetah cub drawing contest will also be on display at the reveal party.
