Nixa Police Investigating Suspicious Person

NIXA, Mo.--(04/19/2017) Nixa Police are investigating after a parent reported that a suspicious person poke to their elementary school-aged child after getting off the school bus around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in the 200 block of Tracker Road in Nixa. 

The child told their parents that a man driving a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, that was behind the school bus, yelled out of the car window at the child, who was getting off the school bus. The child reported that the man said he was supposed to pick the child up and that the child's mother wanted the child to go with the man to his house for awhile. The child ran from the scene and told their parent.

The incident was reported to Nixa Police at 5:20 p.m. yesterday and Nixa Officers were dispatched to the area. Detectives are currently investigating this incident further. 

The suspicious person is described as a pale-skinned man with short, grey hair on the side and balding on the top. The man has a raspy voice, and was seen wearing a purple tie with black stripes. He did not have a beard or mustache. 

The suspicious person was a driving a new yellow Volkswagen Beetle with a lighter colored paint spot around the driver's front wheel well and the vehicle had tinted windows.
