ANTARCTICA -- Scientists have attached digital tags with cameras to whales. The tags stay on the whales for up to 48 hours and then detach. Once scientists retrieve the tags, they gather information about where and how the mammals feed, what kind of social lives they lead and even how hard they have to blow to clear sea ice. World Wildlife Fund-Australia provided three of the cameras to scientists who said it helps them study threats to whales from climate change and other human disturbances.
