Lakyn McGee joined the Fox 5 News Team as a Reporter in December 2016. She’s no stranger to the Ozarks. Growing up, Lakyn attended school at Gainesville, MO where she was active in sports, Drama Club, and The Bulldog Update.

She graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Theatre. While there, she anchored for the Emmy-award winning show Ozarks News Brief.

Lakyn got her love of telling stories by performing in school plays and writing. She took her love of storytelling and pursued a career that lets her tell different stories every day.
Her first on-air job was as an anchor/reporter for 94.7 Today’s KTTS on the weekends. Lakyn made the jump to television because her heart has always been comfortable in front of the camera.

During her free time, you can find Lakyn with her nose in a book, taking her fur-baby Chloe on walks, binge watching episodes on Netflix, cheering on the Cubs in a Cardinal town, and spending time with her loved ones.

Have a story idea? Lakyn would love to hear from you!
