Springfield, MO – (3/17/17) A Springfield man accused of kidnapping a girl with autism who ran away from home in December 2016 has entered a not guilty plea.
59- year- old Harold Brooks was charged with two felonies of first degree child kidnapping and attempted enticement of a child. Police say the girl came across Brooks on a sidewalk when he took her to his house where she spent the night.
The girl was found the next day after a bus driver noticed her riding in Brooks’ lap in a wheel chair.
Brooks is being held in the Greene County Jail and his next court appearance is scheduled for April 19.
